Remember him? Apparently he just threw his son a lavish bar-mitzvah. So gauche these rich kids' bar mitzvahs:
An Israeli-American millionaire on the run from the FBI threw a luxurious bar mitzvah in his African hideaway.
Jacob "Kobi" Alexander, the former CEO of Comverse Technology, flew some 250 guests from Israel and the United States to Namibia over the weekend to attend the bar mitzvah of his oldest son.
Alexander fled the United States two years ago as federal authorities issued a warrant for his arrest on suspicion of securities fraud. He has set up a new home with his wife and three children in Windhoek, where he enjoys immunity from extradition.
That story would've been better if he'd flown Jay-Z out there as well.
Too bad Wesley Snipes didn't get this kind of treatment. He's heading towards spending
three YEARS in jail. For misdemeanors.
Wonder what's special about Kobi?
It's not an 'extradition' issue, because
Iraq didn't have an extradition treaty with
the US when they plucked Saddam out of his
hiding place.
It's not a 'legal' issue, because his
partners already admitted guilt.
It's not a 'can't find him' issue, because
the FBI already did.
What makes Kobi "special"?

it is an extradition issue: US invaded Iraq, so they can do what they want; Saddam was also not wanted in the US - he was turned over to Iraqi officials to render justice. There was no question of extradition. Kobi on the other hand is a guest of the Namibian govt and can stay there as long as the Namibian Govt. wants him to stay. Namibia does not have an extradition treaty with the US.
