Reuters reports that Warren Buffett will appear on an episode of All My Children come this May as part of a "sweeps" week stunt. Apparently the CEO of Berkshire Hathaway and the creator of the show, Agnes Nixon, are friends and that he's in fact a fan (I find this hard to believe, but whatever). Warren's a simple guy, so a straightforward daytime drama might be right up his alley, entertainment wise. He previously did a stint on the show back in 1992.
My question: Is Warren Buffett really such a ratings draw? Is the old man from Omaha (I say that respectfully) a hot item for the housewives who watch daytime soaps? Or, perhaps it's the other way round: Warren Buffett will get the guys at the brokerage houses to turn away from CNBC for a minute to check out what he has to say.
Most likely: he's just having fun. I know I won't be drawn to watch, but he is going to be involved in a plot that involves insider trading (my guess: he's not the bad guy), so maybe there's be a clip that shows up on YouTube.
