The multi-platform Tyler Cowen has guest gush on a NYT dining blog about the Chinese food in fLushing, and how it makes sense to stop in the neighborhood before in a trip in/out of Laguardia. Makes sense to me, though unfortunately, most of my flights tend to be out of JFK. Some good advice in there about what to order/how to know what's best. Here's the best advice though:
And if you don’t care much for Chinese food, Jackson Heights, with some of New York’s best Indian food, is also only minutes away. Just think how much you are saving: what’s really scarce in life is your time and the mere willingness to get up and go. Just do it.
It's true. Money really isn't the issue and, frankly, neither is stomach space. I had five dishes when I went to Chinatown on Saturday and then did the same on Sunday when I went for a more dim sum-focused trip.
