Event-based options, for stuff like Presidential campaigns, still aren't really legal here, but increasingly, startups are doing stuff with options for actual items. The Arizona Republic has a report about Yoonew.com:
One month ago, you could have bought a ticket to see the Giants in Super Bowl XLII for $86.
But there was one catch:If the Giants did not make the game, there was no ticket and your money was gone.
Interesting. It's a real market. Right now, you can buy an option for a ticket to the next Super Bowl for the Buffalo Bills for about $105.
Another example is Techforward, a site that lets you lock in a trade-in value for your used gadgets. So if you buy an iPhone today for $500, or whatever it is, you can pay $20 to guarantee that a year from now, you can sell it for $300. Alex Kirtland has more.
I believe that it is unfair because why you will pay for something that you won't enjoy the have to give the money back because it is its fault if they don't make the game.

totally agree, is a little bit unfair because you are paying for something and you have to have that something.
is like buying and selling the iphone, you are not making profit

It is very interesting topic you've written here..The truth I'm not related to this, but I think is a good opportunity to learn more about it… And as well talk about a different topic to which I used to talk with others..
