I haven't read a single article on the Oscars yet... but I'm going to go out on a limb and predict that several complained that the speeches were too long and that the whole affair was self-congratulatory (an awards show being congratulatory, imagine that). I watched for a little while last night, and didn't see anything particularly offensive. Even John Stewart seemed relaxed. But anyway, the annual tradition of writing tiresome retreads bashing the Academy Awards really is pretty, well, tired.
Great post... you really should consider posting this at basearticles.com

But imagine if, say, some investor from Dubai decided to buy the Cubs or some other team like that. You'd have serious congressional hearings guaranteed. Think of the uproar when the Chinese buy a 10 percent stake in a Wall St. bank and multiply that by 10x. For the sake of their anti-trust exemption, the MLB would have to find a way to block that.

With the lack of Salary Cap of MLB, why couldn't or wouldn't an ultra Wealthy (as in guys or girls who make me look poor) Sports Fan take advantage of the fall in the value of the dollar and come in and buy an Iconic or even mid market franchise and spend spend spend ?

So if you were some small software company and wanted to show that your ERP solution drove through-put efficiency by 20 percent compared to your peer group, Aberdeen would help you get the numbers to demonstrate that. Anyway, as Gomes points out, the company has improved, but how much is up for debate.
