Holy cripes! The website of Family Airlines, discussed earlier, is the most bizarre thing I've ever seen. It's straight out of Web 0.9, if you factor out the YouTube video on it. It's like it was made using Geocities.
And there's an ad for someone who's running for Congress from Nevada. Turns out it's the company's CEO, who, as he states on his blog, is a convicted white collar felon:
I have what most would consider a “checkered past” and have paid the price several times over. I am a convicted white-collar offender (ex-felon) who spent fifteen months of a twenty-one month sentence at the minimum security Nellis Federal Prison Camp in North Las Vegas for security and tax violations that occurred in 1992.
I'm starting to think this might be a joke. I'd say there's a 25 percent chance this is a real airline and maybe a 50 percent chance, it's some elaborate innternet viral marketing scheme in support of some new movie that's coming out in 2009. And there's a 25 percent chance it's something totally different. Seriously, poke around. It just gets weirder and weirder.
More: Here's their Wikipedia page. Still as confused as all get out.
Beating a dead stick with a horse! Sheesh.
