The points that are listed in support of a recession are in your own words, "clever, not analytical."

An obvious sign that equities would rally were the many reports (delivered with straight faces no less) that August 22nd was the possible date of the apocalypse/rapture/armageddon. Maybe the ultimate shake-out of weak hands.

Is it too soon to retire these lame ideas?
