.Com Failures Screenshots

Apropos our musing on TheGlobe.com, on friday, I recently found Ghost Sites: The Museum of E-Failure which has screenshots from almost every defunct .com from back in the day.  That includes, boo.com quokka.com, beyond.com, and even has screenshots from Enron.com, which you may want to check out, since today happens to b the big day, Ken Lay's trial.

Speaking of Enron.com, I was wondering whether anyone has a copy, or has the wording, of the old company decription.  I remember it being one of the most cockamamie things I'd ever read.  It had nothing to do with oil & gas, but instead it talked about mission-critical fulfillment, and powering commerce blah blah blah.  If you have it, or know what it is, please send it along.

Even better. I used to work for the risk consulting division of Arthur Andersen during that era. We published a book in 2000 on Enterprise-Wide Risk Management that contained a significant case study on.... you guessed it... Enron.

The money quote:

"We take risks to generate profit, but we never bet the farm" - Richard Causey - page 188 - Enterprise-wide Risk Management - James W. Deloach. ISBN 0 273 64414 9

When I was at Andersen during the indictments - I saw a whole garbage can full of these books. Needless to say, I have a dozen in the basement as collector items!
