PaidContent is reporting that Amazon (NASD: AMZN) is finally set to launch a digital music service:
You read it here first, as usual: Amazon.com will be launching a digital music service soon, according to a job posting it has submitted on our Digital Media Jobs Blog. It is looking for a content acquisition manager for the service.
If there's a company with the brand, customer base, and platform to go after iTunes then Amazon has to be it. It's taken them awhile but I suspect they've been giving themselves time to do it right. This could get interesting.
Amazon stock's been on a roll lately after a strong earnings report, and it's up over %50 off it's 52-week low. Still, the company is producing a lot of cash now and it may be one to watch if weakness sets in sometime again.
