Much has been made of the fact that prior to its IPO, one of the main differentiating functions of Biadu.com (NASD: BIDU) was that it allowed searchers to easily find pirated material on the web. But now that they're under the watchful of eye US regulators, and are bathing bubble-bath, they've gone clean, stripping that functionality away.
But the joke be on them, as according to this blog, Google (NASD: GOOG) itself offers a backdoor to finding pirate material--on it's China site:
Finding pirated software is surprisingly easy with Google. Yes, we have astalavista to find the serial numbers and key generators, but it might take you a little more time to find the original setup files, and software that do not use serial numbers to validate the license.
Enter Google. Google China, to be exact.
It's okay if you don't read chinese. You just have to know some keywords (with trasnlation below) to download any files successfully, with the success rate of as high as 100%. Believe it.
I'm not sure if linking to this information violates thie "Digital Millenium Copyright Act", so I'll put a strong disclaimer that this is for: Educational Purposes Only. funny, i have just find a lot of pirated materials on www.baidu.com(did you have a typing mistake?) with some simple keyword(oh, you can just try the same keywords in the article which pointed to google china), i guess the result would not be less than that of google china~hehe~
